About

This is the story of what I have done and what I am doing now.

I was born in the South Wales valleys at what seems like a long time ago. In vinatge terms I am "Mid Century". I studied at Cardiff College of Art Foundation course in 1973 where they taught through the Bauhaus principle of form, colour and experimentation. I enjoyed that but opted to specialise in Textiles although I have always got excited by landscape and flowers.

I gained a BA (Hons) in Art and Design at Leicester Polytechnic (1977). I carried on using textiles and textile techniques for art objects,  exhibiting in and around Bristol, then the East Midlands during the 1980’s and 90's.

My artistic career became interrupted with the advent of children, academic life and earning a living, but I continued painting. I retired to the beautiful Scottish Borders to garden and paint, resuming my artistic intention. I now have a certificate in Botanical Illustration from RBGE (2021)...

... and I studied Landscape painting in oils at Leith School of Art (2021 - 22).
